My New Book
I decided to hold off introducing my new book, Blue Bug, until the new year arrived, as we had developed some more ideas and finished up a website about the book. Well, it's now 2025, and we got 'er done!
Blue Bug is a children's book about a young French girl in 1930 who falls in love with a Bugatti Type 35 and dreams about owning it one day. We all dream impossible dreams at one time or another, but we also know the importance of dreaming big. This story is all about that.
Hélène lives with her father, Emile, a mechanic who works for the Count and Countess of a large estate in the French countryside. Hélène loves the Count's blue Bugatti racer, and she polishes it each day while Emile keeps it in tune for the Count.
During a chance encounter with a famous French racing driver who pilots Bugatti’s, Hélène learns an important life lesson. And shortly after that event, Hélène's life is forever changed, but not her deepest wishes. Will she ever be able to own a Bugatti?
Well, you'll just have to get a copy of the book to read with your child or grandchild to find out!
Plans for Blue Bug
My goal is to have Blue Bug published in time for the Christmas holiday, and I have several tasks to complete for that, one of which is to create a Kickstarter campaign to gather support and fund its completion through pre-sales of the book. I've hired an automotive artist, Alex Wakefield, who has drawn the cover and is producing the images for Blue Bug.
It will be available in hardback, softback, and digital (Kindle KDP). More details will follow in my newsletter that is forthcoming from my (new) author website. It will be a wonderful book to share with our next generation of automotive enthusiasts, so I hope that you will consider getting your young automotive fan a copy to read and share!
New Author Website
Another task that I recently completed was to create an author website because I have several book projects, and I needed a platform on which to share them. The website:
https://www.RonaldSieber.com
Blue Bug is the first of several children's books planned, but then there's a novel that I'm doing research on, and... but wait! I'm getting ahead of myself here.
Let's do this: in the near future I'll send you the first issue of my newsletter, which will contain further details about Blue Bug and the plans for that. If you decide that you like receiving news about Blue Bug and other projects that I'm working on, then do nothing - you are already subscribed because you receive my blog!
However, if you don't want to receive any further news about Blue Bug and other developments, such as what's going on with Classic Speedsters, please feel free to opt out of the newsletter by clicking on the "unsubscribe" button in the newsletter.
The newsletter will arrive in your inbox with my name in the subject line: "Book News from author Ronald Sieber." No surprises, just news.
Classic Speedsters (the Book) Goes Digital!
For the past several years I have been bothered that overseas shipping for books is outrageously high. I have an international speedster fan base, some of whom would like to purchase a copy of my book, but they are probably held back by crazy shipping rates. What to do?
Well, I may now have a solution for this problem!
Recent developments in the digital world have made it possible for large books (like Classic Speedsters) with ginormous file sizes to be digitized and made available to read online. And so, we may have finally cracked this nut!
I'm in the process of beta-testing a digital copy of my 304-page book, with a file size of 250 megabytes, to make sure that it works faultlessly on different computers before I offer it to readers. I'll be reporting on this development in my upcoming newsletter, which you will soon be receiving, so stay tuned, visit my new website, and...
Go drive that speedster!
